Understand and learn the fundamentals of insurance by visiting and training under each department in one year. Departments include: - Support Services: Getting acquainted with the company’s mailroom and administrative processes. - Policy Services: Getting acquainted with programs used by the company to store data and policy information by processing endorsements and issuing brokerage policies. - Underwriting - Excess & Surplus Lines: Understanding the roles of both E&S Associate Underwriters and Underwriters in Property, Casualty, and Marine insurance coverage. - Premium and Underwriting Audits: Learned premium audit and agent audit process of the company and had the opportunity to help.- IT - P&C, Database, Quality Assurance, Network Administration, Support, and Security: Gain an understand of both agent and employee interactions for IT support. Worked closely with Business Analysts to understand how in-house IT programs are tested and released to production. Shadowed Network teams to understand their daily tasks in relation to keeping the network working. -Marketing: Focus on interaction with managing general agents and corporate events encouraging connection and relationships. Obtain adjusters license and practice for an extensive period. - Facilities: Understand the roles of those in maintenance, groundskeeping, cleaning, and cafe preparations. - Job Shadow: Program concludes with a three week job shadow, allowing an opportunity to make a final decision on regular position based on interests and availability.
