I am in the Educational Assistant - Adult Support program a Niagara College. I will be graduating in April 2023, and am eager to learn and experience the many different opportunities in this field. I have worked as a Direct Support Professional in a group for adults for approximately a year now. I am still fairly new in the field but so far I am really enjoying it and the experience it brings. I have created many professional relationships as well as with the people we support, learning how to best support them as I get to know them. I have completed two college placements, one in an elementary school working as an Educational Assistant, the second being at a day/respite program. My experience in this field has given me so many learning opportunities, helping me to better understand how to support and strategize with individuals I work with to help provide necessary resources and supports to ensure they are introduced to many opportunities to lead full and productive lives.
