As an Educational Facilitator with the Bridge Program, I assisted in introducing students to new skills, strategies, and resources to boost productivity inside and outside of the classroom. I built relationships with students, faculty, and family members to ensure participants were receiving the help they needed when transitioning back to their school environment. I also acted as a mediator and encouraging healthy decisions when it came to social-emotional learning.

As a Teen Center Monitor, I ensure the safety of participants and create a welcoming environment. I assist in creating monthly schedules, creating unique activities, and ensuring all supplies are ordered. I also engage with the community and create relationships with participants and their families.

While at my internship, I focused on Outdoor Education and Community Outreach. I facilitate outdoor education programs for participants ranging from elementary to high school and utilize team building initiatives as well as low and high-challenge courses to deliver programs. When it comes to community outreach, I open and oversee "the Zone" at the Hockomock Area YMCA three times a week. designed to meet clients' desired outcomes. I also communicate effectively with teens, parents, and community members concerning the teen center, its missions, activities, and programs.

As a Substitute teacher, I followed lesson plans for grade levels 6-12 while ensuring students were engaged and completing assignments. I overlooked over 20 students per class and ensured their safety while in the classroom. I also adhered to school policies and procedures while creating a fun and exciting environment!

A student-led initiative where college students are in a mentor position. As a participating college partner, we provide support and mentoring to elementary school students in the local area. As one of the six site leaders in the Partners Program, it is our responsibility to develop and execute program activities on 4 different days. Activities include ice breakers, STEM Activities, and bonding moments. Site leaders are the direct source for communication within the Partners Program of scheduling updates and the delivery of a beneficial program.

We are paired with a partner where we meet once a week for multiple hours where we work on academic achievements, participate in recreational and arts-related activities at the Springfield College campus and over Zoom during the midst of COVID-19.
