My goal as an art teacher is to build and provide a rigorous curriculum where students are challenged to grow technically and in content knowledge, while also offering a hospitable and equitable classroom environment that fosters creativity, reflective practice, and confidence in each student’s personal artistic voice. As a leader, I strive to lead with authenticity and empathy by developing meaningful connections with students and colleagues, modeling a healthy life balance, setting high expectations for myself and others backed by mentorship and quality support, and consistently learning and leading with curiosity. In my years of teaching, I have gained experience teaching students in every grade level from Pre-K to 12th grade. I now proudly call Chattanooga, TN home, where I am building a brand new high school art program at Chattanooga School for the Liberal Arts (CSLA), a magnet school in Hamilton County that uses the Paideia Philosophy.
