About Madison Ford

I have always been passionate about helping people and have purposefully engaged on a journey in the field of public health. I am inspired to help our world and improve the human condition with a vision for equitable and sustainable health care solutions. As an academic, I have pursued innovative and competitive programs which have honed my creative and original thinking abilities, in preparation for this dynamic and challenging field. As an international student and recipient of the 350th Jubilee Scholarship, representing Canada, I received my Master of Public Heath from Lund University, Sweden. During my first semester I was elected Chair of the MPH program, representing a student body from 23 different countries as a facilitator and advocate. As an undergraduate at Queen's University, I was the recipient of the Chancellor's Scholarship award as a result of my commitment to academic excellence and dedication to community involvement. I believe that it is important to 'give back to my community', and I became involved in various leadership and mentorship roles at school and also volunteered in the greater community, among other various diverse programs, working with children in a hospital setting. My employment opportunities also reflect my aspiration for a career in Public Health as I was successful in gaining meaningful experience at the McGill Group for Suicide Studies, the Heart and Stroke Foundation and Diabetes Canada. I strive to be a lifelong learner and aspire to be part of a vision of like minded people who are inspired to collaborate and initiate change in our world.
