About Madison Ritsch
I am a current Aerospace Engineering PhD student at the University of Colorado Boulder specializing in aircraft control theory, multi-agent communication, and aircraft path planning. My research interests lie in the guidance, navigation, and control of underwater and aerial robots for use in meteorological data collection and emergency operations. I am currently funded by the Center for Autonomous Air Mobility & Sensing (CAAMS).I completed my BS in Aerospace Engineering and a minor in Computer Science in May 2023 from the University of Colorado Boulder. Aside from my STEM studies, I am very passionate about the equine industry. I have obtained my C-2 and H-B Certifications from the United States Pony Club. I compete my Welsh pony, Taylamor Penelope, in eventing and show jumping and love mentoring and teaching younger members.

Our two largest autonomous submarines are used in the international RoboSub competition, while our smallest remotely operated vehicle (ROV) is used for the MATE ROV competition. In 2021, Colorado RoboSub won 1st place at the Rocky Mountain Regional MATE ROV Competition with "Lazarus". And at the last in-person RoboSub competition, the team placed 7th/55 international teams in San Diego, CA.
