I was in charge of administrative tasks pertaining to the pest control sector of our branch. I raised work orders on our system, scheduled pest control visits, coordinated with and liaised between tenants, housing associations, and our pest control specialists, and managed/filed reports. I also helped manage the branch's inbox, responded to email and phone inquiries, prepared and sent invoices, and raised work orders pertaining to other sectors within our branch.

I worked as Dr. Jennifer Murray’s research assistant as part of my MSc program’s placement requirement. I assisted on her eye tracking study that focuses on what factors participants fixate on when conducting suicide risk assessments, compared to the factors they subjectively rate as important. Through my placement I developed an informed understanding of suicide research and risk assessment. My responsibilities included creating a data analysis plan, learning how to use eye tracking equipment and analysis software, extensive data cleansing, and data analysis.

Under the supervision of Dr. Benjamin Derring, I have carried out my dissertation study on mental imagery and Aphantasia. Specifically, we aimed to see if simply exposing participants to information on Aphantasia, alone or in conjunction with perceived loneliness ratings, increased incidence of self-identification and/or impacts scores on mental imagery measures/tests. Through my dissertation project, I have gained first-hand experience in designing experiments, applying for ethical approval, participant recruitment, developing stimuli and programming tests on testable, data collection, data cleansing, and data analysis.

I completed a placement as a research intern for the MSCI (multigenerational social contact intervention) creative engagement program during their Spring 2021 session. The goal of this program is to implement a social contact intervention for elderly adults who screen high for loneliness (and thus, high risk for dementia). The intervention involves pairing two young adults with an elderly adult to foster friendship through a creative project of their choosing.As an intern I was involved in interacting directly with a vulnerable population to foster connections and work on creative projects together. Additionally I was responsible for: recruiting participants via cold calls, conducting qualitative interviews, data entry, coding qualitative data collected from interviews, and other administrative tasks.

During my final semester at University of San Francisco I worked as a TA for Dr. Saralyn Ruff’s abnormal psychology undergrad course.Responsibilities included: Grading weekly group assignments and offering feedback, hosting study sessions, writing exam questions, editing course canvas page and syllabus, handling enquiries from students, along with additional administrative tasks.

I worked as a research assistant at the Creative Brain Lab for Dr. Indre Viskontas on a new study involving creativity anxiety and the possibility of creativity enhancement via tDCS. Responsibilities included: Idea generation, literature review, idea presentation, completing paperwork for IRB approval, working on research proposal, and presenting pilot data.
