About Scottish Empty Homes Partnership

The Scottish Empty Homes Partnership is funded by the Scottish Government and hosted by Shelter Scotland. We exist to encourage Scotland’s approximately 40,000 privately-owned long-term empty homes back into use. At a time of a housing emergency, we know that every home matters. The Scottish Empty Homes Advice Service (SEHAS) sits within the Partnership and uses specialist knowledge to provide advice and information to anyone concerned about empty properties, be they an owner, neighbour, empty homes practitioner or anyone in between. The service works collaboratively with empty homes practitioners, local authority private sector teams and other organisations to drive forward empty homes work.
