Deirdre’s House is the Center in Morris County for child victims of abuse and/or neglect and for children that have witnessed violence. Established in 1994, it is the only site in Morris County where a child victim can be interviewed and digitally recorded by law enforcement, medically examined and treated by a pediatric abuse specialist, prepared for trial, and clinically counseled in English or Spanish—all under one roof. As a Board Member, I provide general oversight and offer pro-bono communications and marketing support.

- Led Merck’s IMPLANON® Access Program, a six-year social business partnership with the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation to accelerate access to long-acting reversible contraception by reshaping market dynamics and global supply and demand in the world’s poorest countries. Took partnership from infancy to culmination. Results: Built commercially sustainable business that doubled demand and delivered 25 million units to >50 low- and middle-income countries. - Led engagement with stakeholders and customers including United Nations Foundation, UNFPA, USAID, NORAD, Clinton Health Access Initiative, CIFF, DFID, and Jhpiego.- Led Netherlands-based team that coordinates and executes all procurement for institutional/donor and NGO customers. Achieved successful reorganization of team, improving accountability and effectiveness. - Designed and launched strategy to identify growth opportunities at mid-tier price points among middle income women (middle of the pyramid) in emerging markets in South East Asia.- Executed and oversaw partnership with U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention Foundation as part of the ZIKA Contraception Access Network. Partnership highlighted in Lancet Public Health.

Facilitated materiality assessment to identify risks and opportunities and translated these into innovative solutions and policies that delivered shareholder value while addressing social and environmental needs. Accomplishments included: - Developed enterprise-wide corporate responsibility strategy and implementation plan for Merck post-merger with Schering-Plough Corp., identifying priority areas, key performance indicators and targets. - Led cross-functional team to create company's first corporate responsibility report based on Global Reporting Initiative and UN Global Compact principles- Supported development of corporate responsibility approaches for subsidiaries in India, China and sub-Saharan Africa. - Gained Board-level agreement to sign on to the U.S. Global Compact, the first U.S. pharmaceutical company to join. - Executed campaign to increase engagement with socially responsible investors. Result: Strong placement for Merck on several prestigious indexes (e.g., FTSE4Good, Dow Jones Sustainability Index and Access to Medicines Index.) - Supported development of company-wide Access to Health principles that defined Merck's access vision and priorities; worked with business units to implement principles in commercially sustainable way.
