Part of a countywide team to meet the needs of adults in Kerry who would like to improve their skills, in literacy, numeracy and lifeskills. I love working in this field, supporting adults who are ready to embrace life change. I carry out learner assessments and help them shape their learning goals, plan progression and access supports. I work with partner agencies to plan larger scale responses and with other ETBs on various committees and groups to support best practice and innovation.

West Cork / South Kerry

Worked with groups of parents to explore positive parenting choices, habit change and family dynamics. This was fascinating work and it was wonderful to see the impact in families who got this support. So much change is possible when we apply our conscious mind to our life habits.

Teaching adult literacy, numeracy and lifeskills on a one to one basis and in small groups. Supporting learners to make changes in their lives and build the confidence they needed to grab that opportunity. Specialised in family learning, working with parents to support their children's education and their own.

I worked online and via telephone as a one to one tutor for adults, developing skills in reading, writing, spelling, maths and IT before we had the Internet!

Skibbereen

Set up and managed an information service and resource library for adults returning to education and seeking career guidance. I partnered with education providers across the county, and a network of external agencies to provide information and advice, referrals and progression pathways. This was really interesting work and gave me a broad knowledge of Ireland's adult education sector.

Italian to English business translator in international finance and investor relations, working to very tight deadlines with a very high level of accuracy.

Designed and delivered courses in Italian language, translation and culture to B.A. level, designing curricula and assessments. I also took part in inter-departmental programme development.
