I am a founding member of the non-profit organization, In My Shoes, that aims to educate people about sexual violence in order to prevent it and eliminate the stigma surrounding it. Using educational and informational resources to spread awareness, the organization is committed to creating a community of survivors, supporters, and sponsors of a common issue that plagues society today. I personally oversee awareness events and fundraising initiatives to broaden the mission as well as manage the internal budget for the non-profit. This position requires rigorous time management and communication skills within the organization.

I was selected to be a part of a small group of students collaborating on the grant project called "Collaborative Syllabus Design: Birth Book Club". We read anthropological literature that analyzes childbirth cross-culturally and discuss their social impacts. The texts we deem relevant to the course are selected for future syllabi. I was chosen for this position because of my strong work ethic and high achieving academic spirit as well as my passion for the women's health industry.

At C.S Mott’s Children’s Hospital, I worked specifically on the Pediatric Cardiology floor and the Post Ambulatory Care Unit, helping reinforce healthy coping mechanisms in the children and siblings of patients receiving care at the hospital. It was my responsibility to help comfort the children before procedures and assist families of patients with anything they need during their child’s stay. This position gave me heightened emotional intelligence as well as experience in the personal side of medicine.

Ronald McDonald House Charities is an organization whose stated mission is to create, find, and support programs that directly improve the health and well-being of children. I worked to help foster a supportive and welcoming environment for the families with children staying long term at C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital. I helped to organize and process donations that come into the organization to ensure they are properly distributed amongst the patient’s and their families. As an administrative intern, I would also help to facilitate tours for incoming families, answer any questions that families call in with, and make sure all of their paperwork is processed correctly.
