Worked on the upgrading of the Ash Handling plant Fine-ash Variable Speed Drives. I was the the project leader for the upgrade of the Siemens Drives which had reached its end of life. The siemens drives was replaced by Allen Bradley 1336 Plus and was controlled by device-net. Did the complete programming and Supervisory Control of the drives(SCADA). The pump-station had three pumps which formed a set of tandem pumps that pumped to the Fine-ash settling dams. One of these sets also was fitted with Weg drives and was also programmed to work through Device-net. Their was some challenges to integrate the system to the Allen Bradley Plc and I managed to get it to work. The Bioworks Plant Plc had to be replaced from SLC-500 Plc to Controllogix 5000 and Factory Talk Scada. Rockwell was phasing out the SLC-500 Plc and I was the Project Leader to upgrade the Plc and Scada Network of this area. We phased the project over a few years since we could not get all the pumpstations at once to upgrade since it was a big project.We also was in charge of the Sasol Gas Engines Power Plant (SGEPP).Worked on Fiber Network and also supported plant on breakdowns.
