My professional background begins with a degree in Computer Science from UCC in 2002. Now I am currently working as a Software Engineer with ServisBOT Ltd. I completed a Higher Diploma in Computer Science in order to refresh my previous skills and pursue a career in the IT industry. For my final year project for the Higher Diploma I built a feature based test runner with NodeJs run on a Lambda step function using Puppeteer and Mocha. I work in a serverless environment using AWS and work daily with Docker, Git, VSCode, Javascript, React, CSS, NodeJS, Cloudformation, S3, APIs, microservices, GHA, Python, YAML, JSON and more. My previous experience as the Centre Manager of a busy climbing wall and adjacent soft play zone in Cork city for 7 years I feel I have gained a versatile array of skills and expertise across many sectors including team management, customer service, HR, accounts and social media management. I am efficient, well organised and focused which is apparent from my ability to manage two centres and 40 staff while completing my studies and still receiving excellent grades. I also have qualifications as an outdoor leader in many pursuits including Rock Climbing Instructor, Climbing Coach, Mountain Skills & Navigation and Dinghy Sailing Instructor. I have travelled extensively and am certain the combination of my years in management, as an outdoor leader and my life experiences have ensured I have a vast array of expertise, an outstanding work ethic and am a competent and confident leader.
