Throughout the internship, I worked as a Fatigue and Damage Tolerance Engineer on the Wing Midbox Incremental Development team. This entailed performing the necessary structural analysis and justification to the Midbox components as a result of modifications occurring to the aircraft. I also invested time involved in design integration, where I was exposed to the Airbus Design Review process and maturity of modifications from proposal until implementation.

SEL design and manufacture bespoke conveyors and automation systems. This was an opportunity for me to get some hands-on experience in general engineering such MIG/TIG welding, cutting, deburring, assembly and fitting skills, whilst being exposed to some basic engineering principles such as materials, limits/fits, bearings and motors. The Managing Director tasked me with designing a costing model for bespoke conveyor belts on excel which allowed flexibility to the user for modifications to the product given their bespoke nature. I completed the design and the spreadsheet is being implemented within the business.
