My career is rooted in a commitment to advancing the fields of artificial intelligence (AI) and bioinformatics, with a particular focus on imaging and computational biology. Throughout my academic tenure, I engaged in extensive collaboration with experts from diverse disciplines, including bioinformatics, physics, statistics, and neuroscience. Together, we developed innovative software and machine learning (ML) approaches for electron tomography (for example publications: http://tinyurl.com/6w65dn5u ). This work not only refined my skills but ignited a profound interest in AI, propelling me into my current career path beyond academia.Four years ago, I joined Lynntech’s Intelligent Systems Group, starting as a Scientist I and progressing through roles as Scientist II, Data Scientist II, and now Team Leader. My tenure at Lynntech has been marked by collaboration on a multitude of projects, where I have taken on roles ranging from Key Personnel to Principal Investigator (PI). A standout project involved using Generative AI for non-destructive evaluation (NDE) and physics-based simulations for NASA (Phase I & II SBIR, contract: 80NSSC20C0199). As PI, I developed core generative models that drastically reduced computational times for NDE techniques, earning recognition through an invitation to speak at an SPIE conference and a scholarly publication (SPIE Thermosense: https://doi.org/10.1117/12.2663951).My current endeavors include leading a project aimed at creating a scalable generative software package for Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) imagery (PI, Navy Phase I, N6833523C0510). Additionally, I have made a long-term significant contribution with the development of Quick-Single Nucleotide Polymorphism (Quick-SNP), a cutting-edge software suite utilizing AI/ML models and GPU-accelerated computation to predict human kinship and biogeographic ancestry from large DNA SNP panels. From its inception (TRL 2 to 3; DTRA Phase I - HDTRA121P0010) to its current status as a fully integrated software suite (TRL6; DTRA Phase II - HDTRA122C0001), Quick-SNP is a testament to my dedication to merging complex biological data with computational innovation, significantly advancing genomics research.In essence, my career exemplifies the impact of interdisciplinary collaboration and the transformative power of AI and ML in addressing complex challenges. From academic research to groundbreaking projects at Lynntech, my focus remains on expanding the boundaries of the possible, driving innovation, and contributing to the progression of science and technology.
