Shawon Mahmud is a Bangladeshi science communicator and video producer. He is best known for his initiative BigyanPriyo which is a leading science-based education platform in Bangladesh. In 2018, Shawon founded BigyanPriyo while he was a second-year physics student at Jahangirnagar University. Initially, he managed all aspects of graphic design and video content creation himself. Over time, through effective leadership and communication, he transformed BigyanPriyo into an organization with over 100 team members. In 2022, he was honored with the Joy Bangla Youth Award for his outstanding contributions to digital science education, and in 2024, he received the BrightSkills Emerging Youth Award from Creative IT Institute.
