"The UDC Design, Build, and Fly (DBF) competition, an annual event hosted by the Unmanned Aerial Systems Development Center (UDC) at Cairo University, offers engineering students a unique opportunity to apply their theoretical knowledge to practical design challenges. Participants are tasked with conceptualizing, designing, and constructing small, electric-powered UAVs that meet specific mission requirements. The competition evaluates students' ability to analyze mission objectives, conduct trade studies, perform aerodynamic and stability calculations, and estimate aircraft performance. Additionally, students must present a well-structured technical design report justifying their design choices. The culmination of the competition is a demonstration of the students' prototypes, where they showcase their practical skills and the effectiveness of their designs."
