I recently graduated from Marist College with an Honors Bachelor of Science (BA) degree, specializing in Entrepreneurship/Entrepreneurial Studies and International Business, with a pathway in Cognitive Science. Currently, I serve as the General Manager at Hyatt Place Poughkeepsie, where I apply my extensive experience in the hospitality and customer service sectors.In addition to my role at Hyatt, I run a small henna business, which has provided me with a creative outlet for several years. This entrepreneurial venture complements my professional experience by enhancing my skills in business management and customer engagement.Previously, I gained valuable insights as an Operations Manager intern at Amazon. This role equipped me with skills in logistics optimization, data analysis, and the management of both internal and external employees, allowing me to foster a positive company culture.As part of my academic journey, I completed an honors thesis titled "Hospitality, Culture, & Unity," focusing on developing hospitality leadership in South Africa. Through this thesis, I created the Ubuntu Initiative, which aims to implement cultural sensitivity solutions in the hospitality industry worldwide. This project significantly contributed to my growth, deepening my understanding of global hospitality challenges and enhancing my leadership skills.My extracurricular involvement has been extensive. I played a leadership role in the Marist community as President of the Muslim Student Association (MSA) and held executive board positions in the Asian Alliance and Marist International Student Association (MISA). My commitment to these organizations underscores my dedication to fostering representation and a sense of community.Moreover, I actively engage in teaching youth at the MHQA, organizing fundraisers, volunteering for various nonprofits, and spending quality time with family and friends. My strong aptitude for multitasking, combined with a lifelong passion for the hospitality industry, demonstrates my high level of dedication and commitment to all my endeavors.
