I am working on thermal boundary conductance at metal/dielectric interfaces. My aim is to understand how real (non-ideal) interfaces properties influence heat transport efficiency. Each interface studied required: - Thin film technology for its development and its control.- X-ray diffraction and electronic microscopy for its characterization. - Laser technology to measure its thermal properties via a pump-probe experiment.

During this project, I studied the thermomechanical properties of several commercially available alloys in an attempt to evaluate whether warm rolling might be a promising way to reduce crack formation that typically appears during cold rolling. This project required: - The development of mechanical tests able to characterize materials up to 600°C.- The development and the installation of a warm rolling system prototype on a production line. - Metallography and hardness tests to characterize the materials after deformation.

The goal of this project was to characterize the crystallization kinetic of a newly developed Pt-based bulk metallic glass. The characterization of the system of interest required: - The development of heat-treatments conditions allowing for partial crystallization.- DSC for its thermal characterization- X-ray diffraction and electronic microscopy for its chemical and structural characterization.
