Term Adjunct Assistant Professor

Kingston, Ontario, Canada

Teaching Multiphysics topics and conducting multiphysics research topics including electromagnetic modeling and design of Linear Induction Motors using COMSOL and Maple

Sep 2016 - Oct 2018

Mitacs Accelerate Postdoctoral Fellow

Kingston, Ontario, Canada

-Funded by Bombardier Transportation Inc. and MITACS. The project was titled "Spatial and Temporal Linear Induction Motor Harmonics".-The research was carried out under the supervision of Bombardier fellow expert Dr. Konrad Woronowicz and Queen's University professor Jordan Morelli.-A new mathematical/analytical model of the electromagnetics of the Linear Induction Motor (LIM) was developed, and the results were published in refereed journals and a conference proceeding (see list of publications below).-A new 2-D Finite Element Analysis model/simulation of the Linear Induction Motor LIM was developed using COMSOL Multiphysics. The new model is 500 times faster and more accurate than the previous one. Furthermore, the model is fully parameterizable, and simulates operation of the LIM under voltage mode, which was not easily achieved using previous models.
