About Majd Kassis

Throughout my seven years of experience in community work, I developed strong communication skills and demonstrated leadership. These experiences have helped me improve my adaptability skills, teamwork skills, problem-solving skills with different strategies, creative and critical thinking and finally the ability of multitasking under pressure. Last year, I had the honour to be selected from all across Canada, along with 39 other candidates, to work as a parliamentary Page at the House of Commons. My job consisted of providing a range of services to all members of Parliament and assisting with ceremonial and protocol events, such as the Speaker’s Parade, visits of dignitaries and commemorative ceremonies. It also allowed me to participate in education programs for youth groups by working as ambassador for the Page Program. Then, I accepted a new position as a Proceedings and Verification Officer in the Chamber. My main duty was to capture data and provide an ongoing audio annotation of parliamentary proceedings. Recently, I’ve accepted a new position as a Page Supervisor. I am currently studying Civil Law at the University of Ottawa and volunteering as a Legal Information Officer at the YWCA of Montreal by doing legal research, giving legal information to the public and providing legal support to volunteer lawyers. I am also a trilingual person: I speak French, English and Arabic.With my diverse range of experiences and skills, I am excited to pursue a career in law and politics, where I can continue to use my leadership, communication, and critical thinking skills to make a positive impact in my community and beyond.
