Maintain all aspects of ShapeMaker, a real-time medical CAD system used for the design and construction of medical Prosthetics and Orthotics. Designed, debugged and built device drivers for 3D scanners and carvers in Borland C++ (device drivers were written in C.) Co-designed a patented, non-contact 3D scanner which used a Polhemus six-degrees of freedom position sensor in combination with a laser. Was first client of RaindropGeomagic, incorporating their Geomagic Wrap product to construct a shape from a collection of scanned points (point cloud). Designed the next generation ShapeMaker to use bicubic patch meshes, bezier curves and NURBS for prosthetic shape modifications.

Developed and managed alpha, beta and golden master requirements to ensure timely delivery of product. Effectively reduced schedule load on my team by implementing aggressive and accurate scheduling with time-reward system. All engineers were able to schedule and complete work on-time and on-budget (no sandbagging) within a seven-hour workday at a time other groups were working 10+ hour days.

While testing MacDraw Pro, the company created a position for me to implement and evangelize automated testing methodologies to improve product quality and reduce time-to-market for all software products. Developed a complete automated test software library in Virtual User (VU), Apple's automated software tool. Promoted automated test methodologies using VU and my custom test libraries. Created and presented two-day programming course and created and oversaw build-out of automated testing lab, complete with a matrix of Macintosh computers and printers. Was selected by Apple to present capabilities and benefits of Virtual User to large audience at Apple's World-Wide Developers Conference on automated testing.
