Majlinda is a senior leader with international career. She graduated 1993 in ‘Industrial Chemistry’. 2001, she was awarded the academic degree ‘Doctor of Natural Sciences’. In frame of the EU project INTERREG (1993-1995), she contributed in activities fostering cross border cooperation around institutions of EU Member States and West Balkan Countries. As Executive Committee Member (1997-2005) of the ‘Mediterranean Scientific Association for Environmental Protection’, she liaised with scientific or regulatory bodies within the Mediterranean region to develop and implement cooperation and partnerships, and build inter-organizational networks for scientific exchange. 2005 she was awarded a Gold Medal from MESAEP for her outstanding contributions to the aims of the Association.2000-2005, she managed a range of relevant activities at the German Research Foundation. Majlinda continued her career (2005-2018) at different services of the European Commission: the EC Joint Research Centre and the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA), where she gained in-depth knowledge on EU Regulatory Framework. During this period she also managed a wealth of projects that focused on optimizing performance levels and implementing efficiency gains and innovation.Majlinda joined the German Federal Institute for Risk Assessment (BfR), Berlin in 2019. She is Deputy Director of International Affairs and works to the long-term design and strategical development of multilateral cooperation with EFSA and other Institutions globally. Prior to this position she headed the German Focal Point Office for EFSA at the BfR. Globally working means for her internationalizing the European Vision ‘Open Innovation, open science, open to the world’.
