Having worked as a dedicated staff Registered Nurse, I have had the privilege of working with and assisting patients in an acute rehabilitation hospital setting. The most physical of all nursing, I have cared for patients with traumatic and/or acquired brain injury, spinal cord injury, amputation, stroke, coronary artery bypass graft/varied cardiac surgeries, hip/knee replacements, multiple sclerosis, Parkinson's disease, and various other medical conditions ranging from non-acute to medically complex/acute. I have been able to exercise my critical thinking, problem solving, and clinical skills in this setting and carried that into my choice to transition to other challenges in Med/Surg Oncology, and most recently expanding my experience and knowledge in an Ambulatory Surgical Center and Home Health. Commended for “best documentation on the unit”, assessment skills, and numerous “Wow” awards through direct patient care in acute rehab, and additionally, most recently, commended for my “unmatchable work ethic” in the ASC environment. It has been, and will continue to be, my desire to practice with excellence, integrity, compassion, openness to challenge, and a teamwork approach to patient care.
