About Karen Fitzgerald

Constant throughout my career has been the drive to improve things. For customers, for patients, for society. Following a career as a management consultant (EY), where I got the public service bug, I worked to improve cancer outcomes at Cancer Research UK, alongside the NHS. Whilst my social activism is nurtured as a volunteer for Greenpeace and the prison service through IMB (Independent Monitoring Board). I excel at devising programmatic strategies, using my knowledge of how the third, public, academic and private sectors interact to drive change. Knotty problems I've given time to include: rehabilitation, plastic pollution, early diagnosis of cancer, cancer prevention, and flu epidemics. Think of me as a big-picture strategist with a pragmatic twist. A problem solver, an improver who is both positive and perceptive. I value fairness, empowerment, and collaboration; enjoy working in new spaces and weaving integrity of purpose into what I do. Right now, I am searching for a challenging interim role.My mantra?
