Engineer and Olympic marathon runner:I’m a problem solver, who loves the challenge and the process of developing solutions. From the initial stages of investigation, concepts and design, through to monitoring construction and project completion. Geotechnical engineering can be an unpredictable and challenging field, from investigation, model development, to critically analysing and determining the limits of a design. But that is what I enjoy about the geotechnical field, the unique and constantly changing environment of every project site. Outside of work, I’m an elite marathon runner, having recently competed in the Tokyo Olympics. Being able to manage my training around a developing career not only gives me balance, but allows me to take the hard work ethic and competitive mindset from running into my professional career.
