Off Duty Officer (Armed Security)
CurrentKey Responsibilities:Patrol and Surveillance: Conduct regular patrols throughout the store, monitoring all areas to deter criminal activities, suspicious behavior, and safety hazards. Use your presence as a visual deterrent to potential wrongdoers.Access Control: Monitor entrances and exits, verifying the identity of individuals entering and exiting the store. Ensure that only authorized personnel are granted access to restricted areas.Emergency Response: Be prepared to respond swiftly and appropriately to emergencies such as medical incidents, fires, or incidents of violence. Follow established protocols and assist customers and staff as needed while awaiting the arrival of emergency services.Conflict Resolution: Mediate and de-escalate conflicts or confrontations that may arise between customers or employees. Use your communication skills to diffuse tense situations and maintain a calm environment.Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service by assisting shoppers with directions, locating items, and answering general inquiries. Be approachable and friendly while still maintaining a vigilant demeanor.Loss Prevention: Monitor surveillance cameras to detect and prevent theft, shoplifting, and fraudulent activities. Take appropriate actions to address suspected incidents, including apprehending individuals if necessary, following store policies and legal guidelines.Report Writing: Document any incidents, disturbances, or suspicious activities in detailed and accurate written reports. Maintain thorough records of your daily activities and observations.Firearm Management: Responsible for the safe and secure handling of firearms and related equipment. Adhere to all firearm safety regulations and procedures, and only use force as a last resort in accordance with store policies and applicable laws.
