After 15 years working in mental healthcare and nonprofits, I am well-versed in bringing hope, stability, and reassurance into the lives of people in need. I was a key contributor internally in fostering positive culture through change management and employee resource groups. - Managed daylong and overnight urban immersions for high school student classes and youth groups to increase awareness, and to educate them about homelessness and resource networks in Portland. - Educated 300 students about human rights and poverty. Received positive reviews on reflections from all groups. - Developed relationships and provided basic services at JOIN's daytime drop-in center to people experiencing homelessness, mental illness, and substance abuse. - Spearheaded the weeklong Portland Plunge for high school students to promote understanding of homelessness in Portland through education, voluntary service, and personal interaction. Educated 40 youth and volunteers and provided 100 hours of service to the community.
