Worked on the next generation Canadian Surface Combatant frigate. • Modernized the process for collecting 100’s of combat systems data attributes from 6 vendors. Led a team of 2 technicians to create a change-controlled DOORs database, replacing a poorly controlled, inaccurate excel process. Trained the process out to over 50 people from 6 different companies. The resulting database consists of over 500,000 cells of data, which are critical for the ship designer to integrate Lockheed’s combat system into the frigate. • Rebuilt the program’s Technical Information Request process. Originally conducted informally over email, I pushed to create a change-controlled process, that tracked requests moving between 8 companies, through the data management departments, to ensure they were responded to officially, and quickly. To date, over 500 technical information requests have been tracked and answered. • Worked with senior employees from Irving Shipbuilding and BAE Systems to perform a feasibility study, involving multiple trips to the UK and Halifax shipyards, which determined that the Canadian shipyard has the capability to build the UK designed frigate. • Trained and managed 3 summer co-op students, one of which was then hired full time. • Derived 100’s of customer requirements into clear actionable requirements for specific vendors.

• Produced weekly and monthly reports for senior members of the company, summarizing the status of the multibillion-dollar ship construction occurring within the Glasgow site.• Chosen to represent BAE Systems by presenting at the annual IAESTE British Council dinner, after receiving a ‘High Performance’ rating for going beyond the expected scope of the internship.

• Supported groups of up to 50 grade 7-12 students in their development of grit and resilience through active experimentation and exploration in the outdoors.• Developed strong leadership and conflict resolution abilities while guiding students on isolated trips of up to 30 days duration.

• Produced hand-crafted wooden bowls and cutting boards for high-end craft market.• Selected a new CNC router for the shop in order to speed up production of charcuterie boards.

• Designed a compact, compressed gas powered gunshot wound simulator for the filmindustry.• Set up meetings with client, created list of requirements, produced designs by handand on Solidworks, purchased parts, built prototypes, constructed and successfully tested the final product.

• My role at the School of Medicine was to act as a simulated patient in order to train medical students. I simulated a variety of physical and mental illnesses in simulations that lasted up to an hour for as many as six medical students at a time. The students were tasked with conducting examinations or interviews to determine what medical condition I was displaying. • Part of the job was to provide detailed feedback to the students on their bedside manner, in order to help them to develop good habits for their careers.
