About Malcolm Cathcart

As the delivery services practice lead, I help customers with project delivery, managed services and licencing. Managed services teams provide service and support for our clients, either those who come to us through successful project delivery by the practice teams, or those who contact us because they have been looking for a service provider to give them a new way of resolving issues with their Dynamics implementations. Our team have a full range of experience across the Dynamics suite including AX, CRM, Finance and Operations and the Power Platform. Our project delivery teams provide management support throughout a client implementation, coordinating the Inciper team as they deliver the business engagement and ensuring that the project stays on track and on budget. Our project managers are the first point of contact for our clients, giving status reports and project advice at all levels of the customer organisation. On projects, I work as a project or programme manager, bringing my years of project experience to bear on ensuring that risks and issues are identified and resolved ahead of time. My approach is collaborative, working with the client to deliver the project to plan. My favourite part of a project engagement is the fast feedback loop that our agile (RAPID) methodology provides. This enables clients to steer the implementation based on the realisation of their requirements, delivering an end result that matches their business needs. As a topic, change management is vitally important to me. I often say that projects are made up of people, process, data and tools, listed in order of importance. Everyone focusses on the tools and the data but unless you put time and effort in to the people and process side of change, the project will fail to fly. For this reason I will always guide clients to invest time thinking about the impact of the change on the user communities across the business.
