Good Uncle was an early food-delivery startup focusing on ghost-kitchens. I was employee #6, and the first technical hire. I recruited and managed Engineering team, which built the MVP, then scaled it to support multiple locations and form factors. Good Uncle was eventually acquired by Aramark.

The LimitX was a fitness marketplace (similar to ClassPass). During my time there I focused on three things:1. Building the MVP2. Recruiting and building the team3. Networking with the tech community in LA. Among other things, I founded the LA Restful API Working Group at this time.

Caspiar was a dev-shop (full-service marketing agency). We specialized in building MVPs. Our clients included HopSkipDrive, Monger Marketplace, Dartmouth University, Accelerate Capital Management, CarmaNation, and Sportifik.

Crumbel was a search-engine aggregator that mashed-together several nascent social media APIs into a unified search. I built the MVP, which was quickly acquired by a private equity firm in Texas. I stayed on part-time after the acquisition, functioning as the Senior Engineer, for a few months.

At HappyFunCorp I worked on a single client’s project for the duration of my tenure: A project called YeahTV, which was an early VOD streaming site being launched by AMC networks. I built the user authentication system, the country-specific DRM logic, and video-playback functionality (on top of Brightcove).

Five Mill was an SEM agency, and Five Mill Ventures was the venture arm which incubated a number of products in-house. I was tasked with working on a number of in-house projects including TurnkeyDentist (a CMS for dentists), VerifiedCall (a VOIP calling system for adult film stars), and Argoz (an argyle sock company).

LewisFR was a trading firm that specialized in developing proprietary trading strategies focused on leveraged ETFs. I worked on the website and wrote backtesting software.

The Vice Gallery was a holding company whose primary product was OrgasmSafely.com: an e-commerce retailer specializing in adult products and STD-prevention supplies. I worked primarily on the eCommerce site.

The MLK Jr Freedom Center was a non-profit that organized events and community-service opportunities for high-schoolers in Oakland and Berkeley. Since I finished high school 3 years early, I decided to take a break before going to college. I worked full-time here during this time, and learned web-development on the job. Eventually I left the area for college.
