As the Founding Shareholder of Ogletree Deakins in Louisiana, I have been practicing labor & employment law in New Orleans for over 30 years.Since we opened our first Louisiana Ogletree Deakins office in 2009, our Louisiana practice has been recognized as a top labor & employment practice by Best Lawyers in America and Chambers USA, as a “Best Place to Work” by CityBusiness, and by the Louisiana State Bar for our diversity and inclusion. In 2015, we added a Lafayette, Louisiana, satellite office. Today, our firm employs 30 Louisiana residents.I am a Fellow in the College of Labor & Employment Lawyers (inducted in 2009) and am also listed in Best Lawyers in America; LA Super Lawyers; International Who’s Who of Management Labour & Employment Lawyers; and Chambers USA: America’s Leading Business Lawyers.As a litigator, I have first-chaired jury trials in multiple states. I have acted as lead counsel on Sarbanes-Oxley whistleblower claims before the Office of Administrative Law Judges; pattern & practice and class claims prosecuted by the EEOC; Fair Labor Standards Act collective actions; False Claims Act whistleblower suits; and class-based discrimination claims with the U.S. Dept. of Labor’s Civil Rights Center. I have also litigated “intellectual property” disputes (e.g. non-compete covenants, trade secrets, non-solicitation of customers & employees, antitrust, confidentiality breaches, fiduciary & loyalty duties, and “predatory hiring” under the Sherman Act).On the labor side, I have worked on organizing campaigns, collective bargaining, work stoppages and unfair labor practice charges. As an advisor, I have developed employment practices and systems, have written employment contracts and policies, and have trained managers on their implementation. I have also advised employers on their Louisiana corporate acquisitions and expansions. I also conduct workplace investigations.I have been a proud citizen of the City of New Orleans since 1986.
