I am a USA Bobsled Development Brakewoman and 2026 Olympic Hopeful! In early 2021, I left my career as a zookeeper and I auditioned for USA Bobsled and was invited to a rookie camp to try out the sport and have my skills evaluated. I performed well at camp, leaving as the top seeded first year rookie and in late 2021 raced my first races as a brakewoman for Team USA on the North American Cup and European Cup circuits! Now I am going into my second season on the team hoping to race a full cup circuit and move up the rankings in order to set myself up for a run at the 2026 Olympics in Milan. Outside of bobsled, I had a wonderful career as a zookeeper working with mostly aquatic species. I moved into formal education working with grades 5 all the way through to 12. My focus was science education, specifically zoology and environmental science. I also have a Master's in Biology with a Conservation focus through Miami University of Ohio to match my zoological background. Working in education was great but formal education was never my passion and I also have this burgeoning athletic career which led me to look for a career that would allow me more flexibility. So for the past year I worked in various positions for Florida GRID League and at Lululelmon. I am starting to build my skillset in organizational learning and development, conservation education and communication, and non-profit program management. I still find time to use my conservation and science knowledge for philanthropy work. I am an alumni leader for Project Dragonfly at Miami University, I have worked as an educational grant reviewer for NOAA, and I am a mentor through Classroom Champions where I talk to students about being an athlete and also a zookeeper. I am growing my voice as an environmental advocate focusing on the inclusivity of marginalized communities in environmentalist spaces, conservation focuses agriculture, and species survival initiatives.
