I'm a passionate advocate for people, it's been a large part of my career. From immigration law to working in public libraries customer service is the common thread of my career.I'm a Spanish and English speaking, customer focused professional who has had 4 years of experience helping people move and acclimate to a new country through immigration law. People are my main focus and helping them through tough situations is very gratifying to me and I believe the reason for this is my own experience moving to live and work abroad. My experience includes interviewing people from various backgrounds to obtain their back story for their immigration case. I also explained a very complex legal system to unaccompanied immigrant children and youth. After working with the clients I input data into our database and set reminders for application deadlines, reviewed and organized the case files. I collaborated with a city wide Census campaign to ensure that our entire community was counted and had the appropriate information in a language they could understand. I also made it a priority to include this same population in our library events and expanded the library collection to include Spanish and French books for children, teens and adults.
