My path to becoming a software developer has been a great journey that includes several meaningful experiences. I started writing code as a High School teacher when I transferred into a vacated position and new challenge as the Computer Science teacher at Terre Haute South Vigo High School. Throughout my tenure, I was able to modernize and grow the program, ultimately leading to a 120% increase in enrollment and helping students prepare to study at some of the best Computer Science schools in the country. Leveraging my skills to self-teach was paramount in this endeavor, as I was the only CS teacher at the school.I knew early on while teaching programming that this was something that I wanted to pursue as a career and chose the Full Stack Software Development program at Coding Dojo to further develop my skill set as a developer. Full stack development, specifically, is very interesting to me because it allows for creativity on the front end, as well as pragmatic problem-solving on the back end.
