The first years at Univeristy were a real struggle, and for the first time I was confronted with my own limitations. I was born with Turner Syndrome and where it was always part of me, and where I had always known I was 'different' I had never before encountered any real obstacles. After all the changes that come with going to University for the first time, working more hours and leaving the stucture of home I had to face my limitations. I regained my fighting spirit and wanted to prove to everyone that yes, I could do this... Once I had done this, things seemed to fall back into place and In 2012 I gained my European Law masters degree from Maastricht University. During my studies I have learned the basics in a lot of areas of the law and the international law courses I followed during my studies really broadened my view on the world and opened my eyes. It showed me the beauty of the profession and I really love the diversity that there is in law and the differences that can exist between the many different counties and cultures. During our studies we also learned how to prepare for a court-case, we have learned to write research papers, prepare and hold presentations and how to try and find out things for ourselves. As mentioned above it was also during this time that I learned an awful lot about myself, life and my strengths and weaknesses and where this time came with a lot of pitfalls and struggles it once again showed me what I can accomplish if I just persevere.
