Stable View Counseling Center (SVC) is a facility that offers both traditional in office counseling in addition to Equine Assisted services. Equine Assisted Psychotherapy (EAP) is used by professionals to address mental health and developmental needs. EAP incorporates the horse into the therapy session to help individuals achieve emotional growth. Working with a licensed mental health professional and a horse professional, clients participate in a variety of ground activities with the horses to gain insight on feelings and behaviors. Working with horses in a therapeutic setting provides immediate and accurate feedback, promotes healthy relationships and builds trust as the animals offer authentic and non-judgmental interactions.I am a licensed professional counselor in the state of Kansas as well as a National Board Certified Counselor. I received my Master of Arts in Counseling from MidAmerica Nazarene University and Bachelor of Science in Legal Studies from William Woods University. Working from a person-centered perspective I strive to validate an individual’s significance with insight and compassion. I have a heart for children and youth and utilize a non-directive approach that incorporates techniques of play therapy to provide clients a safe, non-judgmental environment to work through struggles. I draw from experience in working with children dealing with trauma, reactive attachment disorders, anxiety, depression, body image and other childhood disorders.
