I started my career working in the courts, most prevalent as a Probation Officer (2007-2015). My passion to help, make a difference and belief that change is possible, is what led me in this direction. In this role, I managed a caseload of offenders and tethers for the entire department. I requested cases involving mental health as that is near and dear to my heart, and I enjoyed working with individuals with disabilities and the agencies in the community who help, and support them. I was given the chance to join Dow HR through Kelly Services as a Mobility Partner aligned to the Sadara Project at the end of 2015, and I gladly accepted the opportunity. This role consisted of working with colleagues all over the world going on assignment for the Sadara project in Saudi Arabia. My case management experience was helpful and made the transition smooth. I enjoyed working with my colleagues all over the world and it afforded me the opportunity to learn about many cultures, and to manage a completely different population. As Sadara was becoming self sufficient, and the plants were being run by less expats and more through the local population, I was crossed trained on the global management compensation side of things. During this time I managed a caseload of expats as the mobility partner, and another caseload on the compensation side; this started my career in global compensation and I became a Dow employee 5/7/18, continuing to manage Sadara, in addition to Latin America. Sadly, mobility was outsourced, however I was awarded a role in Total Rewards, acting as the first point of contact for all NA Compensation issues, service awards, audits, creation and entry of retention and new hire bonuses. I enjoyed investigating situations, offering guidance and clarification via ServiceNow cases, as well as, the guidance for leaders on policies. I truly believe compensation is the heart of HR, as it touches so many aspects and disciplines, and I learned a little bit about each function. In June of 2022, I accepted the Labor Relations Representative role, supporting Texas Operations for bargained for employees. In this role, my knowledge of the sub-functions was tested and put to use, as I manage anything and everything HR for union employees. The commonality in all of my professional experience is working with people and managing a caseload/population. I exceed when I’m helping others and making a difference. I love learning new things and expanding my skillset. In addition to my roles, I’m a leader in inclusion, diversity and equity.
