A life-long love of the English language—and an innate ability to find grammatical errors in public—led me to pursue a degree in English and Journalism from the University of Massachusetts. After moving to Texas, I found a position with the Association of Texas Professional Educators (ATPE), where I was the Senior Copy Editor/Staff Writer in a small, in-house communications department, and worked on a variety of projects, both for print and online.After eight years with ATPE, I decided to switch gears, and took a position as a Technical/Web Writer at Apple. In this position, I worked on support documentation for the Apple support website. After nearly five years in that role, I took on a new role as a people manager for our Content Development team, in which I manage a team of technical/web writers/strategists and a project manager.Combining my writing and editing skills with my other love—pop culture—I also seek out opportunities to write online. I am a writer for a Young Adult literature and pop culture website; I also occasionally write my own lifestyle blog and contribute to a few other sites, too. Working on these side projects has led me to develop better research skills and a distinct online "voice."
