A finance professional (ACMA, CGMA) with 10+ years experience of providing grant and financial management support to both humanitarian and development programmes (such as humanitarian research, humanitarian capacity building, emergency relief, tax justice, water and sanitation and shelter). Specialising in the provision of budgetary, financial and contract management support to large, complex and multi-year restricted funded programmes funded by institutional donors (such as DFID, Sida). Working in partnership with programme managers to ensure the effective delivery of project objectives and the identification and management of risk. Central to this role is the preparation of accurate and timely financial information and analysis.My work largely focuses on the following areas:• Financial Management – proposal budgets; preparing expenditure claims (advances, arrears and payment by result); identifying and managing budget over/under spends; preparing cash flow forecast; analysing the impact of inflation and exchange rates; calculating interest income; and ensuring effective cost recovery.• Financial Reporting – proactively monitoring grant financial performance; developing tools and templates for consolidation; preparing internal and donor financial reports including variance analysis and commentary; analysing actual spend against results; identifying issues and problem solving.• Accountability and transparency – delivering accurate and timely reports; clear and open dialog with donors and project stakeholders; presenting financial results to the Steering Committee; and managing the annual audit process.• Contract Management – understanding complex donor requirements, highlighting and monitoring financial risks; preparing contract/consultant agreements, uploading and maintaining information on the contract management system. • Project Closure – reconciling programme expenditure and facilitating the end of project audit process.
