Coordinated Economic Brain, an inter-ministerial peer learning platform for mid-level government officials and managed program and communications between the Ministry of Finance, Economic Policy Incubator, Staff College and participants. Supported various resource persons in conducting talk programs and workshops, worked as a rapporteur of the events and prepared event reports.

Managed the research, program, and advocacy aspects of the Governance Lab and Daayitwa Nepal Public Service Fellowship program. Placed 16 public policy fellows studying in 7 different countries, with 7 government agencies (Ministries of Finance, Industry, Commerce, Agriculture, Federal Affairs and Local Development, Nepal Rastra Bank, and National Planning Commission) and 3 MPs/ Heads of parliamentary committees. The fellows worked on issues related to entrepreneurship, access to finance and economic development. Provided research supervision and guidance on designing detailed Terms of References, research proposals, both qualitative and quantitative research methods, and research writing. Advised the Government of Nepal and provided technical support on an ad-hoc basis. Coached more than 100 participants on the theories and practices of adaptive leadership and public narrative. Participants included student and youth leaders of political parties, bureaucrats, entrepreneurs, civil society leaders and managers, public policy fellows and MBA students.

Carried out a qualitative research on enhancing access to finance for enterprise development in the earthquake-hit Gorkha-3, Nepal. Topics of exploration included: mapping of the market and financial systems; assessment of existing financing mechanisms; examination of critical inefficiencies and gaps in the financial markets as well as in entrepreneurs’ needs; study of policy level challenges. Carried out fieldwork and semi-structured interviews with nearly 30 respondents (entrepreneurs and locals of different VDCs, bureaucrats, members of civil society organizations, managers of financial institutions, politicians, and policy-makers)

Researched evidence on key constraints and opportunities for economic growth in Nepal as a part of Economic Policy Incubator program’s inception report. Co-ordinated a Trade Task Force and Communication Task Force for the Minister of Commerce & Supplies. The Trade Task Force provided technical support on trade-related issues and drafted recommendation paper to inform the Minister’s address and bilateral meetings at the Tenth Ministerial Conference of the WTO, Nairobi. The Communication Task Force came up with communication strategy and worked to ensure effective communication with the public during India’s unofficial trade blockade on Nepal. Also advised the Minister on Problem Driven Iterative Adaptation Method (PDIA).

Conducted short surveys to collect important and sensitive data for the Destination of Leavers from Higher Education (DLHE) Survey commissioned by the Higher Education Statistics Agency (HESA), UK.

Carried out a legislative study on the rights of women farmers, farmers with small piece of land or no land, and farmers from disadvantaged communities

Conducted primary and secondary research (qualitative) on service delivery mechanisms during conflicts--mainly road and health--of Nepal (qualitative data).
