Manpreet's responsibilities as a Public Relations Intern at LBMG included news monitoring, tracking media coverage, phone pitching to local media about any upcoming events for a client and securing media interviews and coverage for clients through print, radio and online media. She also edited press materials such as press releases and advisories and assisted with on-site media facilitation for big events such as Disney On Ice and the Vancouver Christmas Market. Manpreet occasionally wrote press releases and show guide materials as well.

As a Marketing and Social Media Specialist, Manpreet was responsible for editing and creating blogs for PSC's company website through WordPress to generate new leads while also creating new media distribution lists through Vocus. She also edited and created media releases to be sent out to both Canadian and American contacts and researched, wrote and distributed other releases through PR Web that lead to potentially being viewed by an online audience of over 15 million. Occasionally, Manpreet created internal postings and designed marketing material to send to clients.

As the health fair assistant for the 10th Annual Diversity Health Fair held in Vancouver, B.C., Manpreet was responsible for liaising with and keeping positive and respectful relationships with community and agency stakeholders participating in the Fair while assisting with the organization of activities leading up to the event. Activities included (but were not limited to): promotion and advertising, inviting and following up with exhibitors, exhibitor booth assignment, venue insurance, facilitate volunteer and exhibitor orientations/workshops; sending invoices and receiving payments from exhibitors, gaining sponsorship from different organizations and maintaining AMSSA's website. Manpreet obtained various door prize and gift bag donations from organizations around the lower mainland and Victoria such as The Vancouver Canucks, Butchart Gardens and Yuk Yuk's Comedy Club. Manpreet also assisted with the organization of the Diversity Health Fair Steering Committee meetings. She contributed to meetings by updating steering committee members on what she is currently working on at that time regarding the health fair and what needed to be implemented while taking down meeting minutes. On the day of the event, Manpreet briefed her volunteers on their roles and responsibilities and hosted the Exhibition Hall and made announcements about the various activities going on at the fair. Before the fair closed, Manpreet will presented the Best Exhibitor Booth Award. After the event, Manpreet continued to update AMSSA's website with photographs from the fair, assisted with the writing of the final report for the Health Fair, prepared for the final Steering Committee Meeting, sent thank you letters to everyone that participated in the fair and researched fundraising opportunities for next year's health fair.· · · · .

After having worked at Wal-Mart as a cashier and at the Returns Desk, Manpreet worked as a Customer Service Manager. Manpreet overlooked the front end of her store as well as making sure everything ran smoothly. Her everyday responsibilities included taking care of customer complaints and concerns, providing a comfortable work environment for the cashiers, and maintaining an orderly break schedule. Manpreet was also responsible in handling currency when giving out change and kept a specific balance in the front end cash podium to prevent shortages. She was also responsible in assisting with answering phones, auditing the cashiers tills and making several orders of change throughout her day for the cash podium.

As an intern at BluPRint, Manpreet worked on creating positive buzz for the health and lifestyle clients. She reached out to different companies (via phone and email) and their fashion and beauty editors to gather contact information to update the client database through FileMaker Pro. Also, Manpreet reached out to various makeup artists to update their celebrity contacts that they were currently working on. She contributed to BluPRint's blog entries by creating info graphics through KeyNote and also sent the graphics to different magazine editors as well as compiled media clips of the written publications where her clients were featured. Manpreet emailed many invites to the media to increase press at her clients events.

As a marketing intern, Manpreet was responsible for updating the client database as well as contributing to team meetings by strategically planning and executing different ways to drive traffic and increase sales to e-commerce websites.
