Recently completed a 16 week coding Bootcamp from iO Academy in person in Bath, England.During the 16 week course I learnt and practiced a range of different front-end and back-end programming languages through taught theory and subsequent application of the theory through a variety of individual and team-based projects.

Originally hired as a Brewer and promoted after 14 months. Whilst working at EB I have:● Demonstrated my ability to work effectively as a team to a tight schedule, ensuring that multiple tasksare completed correctly and simultaneously by the production team to ensure that the final product is ofthe high standard that both my employer and consumers expect.● Taken responsibility for all aspects of the beer making process, from grain selection and formation of themash through to boiling of the wort, hop additions and subsequent transfer to the fermenter for a widevariety of beer styles using different yeast cultures.● Attended promotional events such as beer festivals and ‘Meet the Brewer’ nights on behalf of thebrewery engaging with suppliers, customers and competitors.● Acquired a real appreciation for the need for cleaning, sanitation and sterilisation within a brewery toensure that the final product is contamination free and suitable for consumption.● Experienced packaging through racking of beer into casks and kegs as well as into small pack cans andbottles.

During my time at the Malago (previously known as Zazu's Kitchen North St) I demonstrated my ability to multi-task under high levels of pressure andmy capacity to learn and implement new skills. My responsibilities as Sous Chef included:● Following Head Chef’s instruction on food preparation and presentation of dishes, making sure thatquality of the food produced is kept at her high standard during her absence.● Maintaining an excellent level of hygiene in compliance with standards set out by the EHO and managingother members of the kitchen team checking that labelling is up to date and their respective stations areclean throughout and after service.● Stock taking and ordering of produce, making sure that food waste is minimised to reduce ourenvironmental impact as well as hitting gross profit targets.● Ensuring that paperwork is correctly filled out (temperature records, KP cleaning duties, invoice logging)and writing the rota for upcoming weeks ensuring that staffing targets set by executive management aremet.

At Arbor I learnt the foundations of brewing which I developed upon extensively whilst at Electric Bear

Responsible for producing documents that were critical to the nuclear safety of a decommissioning facility. To do this I had to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team and successfully interact with clients, being empathetic totheir individual needs and producing the right content to meet those needs.

During the summer of 2012 I had a 3 months placement with Atkins located at one of their offices in Bristol as part of their Nuclear Decommissioning team. Whilst working with Atkins I experienced what it is like working as part of a team of engineers in a professional working environment. I produced work for a number of different projects that members of the Atkins Nuclear department were involved with. The work that I carried out was a mixture of technical and administrative work. For the more technical work I utilised my teachings and resources that I had acquired throughout the course of my studies making use of my computing skills particularly Microsoft Excel & Visio to produce various models and flow sheets. For the more administrative work I had to rely more heavily on my organisational and communicative skills.The 13 weeks placement opened my eyes to the world of engineering consultancy, showing me the broad range of skills that are required for success within the industry. I learnt how important the checking and verification stages of producing deliverables are in maintaining an excellent reputation within the industry.

Over the summer of 2011, I had a 4 week long placement with a PHD student working within the Fuel Cell Group at the University of Birmingham. During this time I was involved in testing the characteristics of an alkaline electrolyser producing HHO gas that would later be used in conjunction with a diesel engine to help improve its efficiency. The work I carried out, needed to be recorded accurately and reliably so I had to remain fully concentrated on the task whilst correctly noting down any findings I made. Whilst performing the experiments I had to abide to the strict health and safety procedures laid down by the department and university so that I was not putting myself or others working in the surrounding area at any potential risk.The placement taught me what it was like to work as part of a research group both independently and part of a team. I also learnt that communication between members within a team is crucial for success and to do so any individual work produced must be presented in an appropriate manner so that it can be easily and quickly read and understood by others.
