Growing up, I was the youngest of six siblings which has forced me to think critically and multi-task. This may not seem like information that would prove my ability to be successful in construction management, however, my determination in providing quality work while being able to manage many items at one time is relevant to being a productive and efficient project manager/engineer. Those who knew me as a child may have also seen my pathway in construction coming. I would often be caught in the backyard building “cities” with my dad’s wood scraps or in wood-shop class during breaks in high school. It wasn’t until I beat my high school mechanical engineering teacher in a “build a bridge” competition that I knew construction management was going to be my career. During this project, it was required to buy our “parts” to create the bridge and we could not go over budget. We were expected to use our own design and manage our time. Because of my passion for the field of construction, I was able to successfully defeat my teacher in completing each phase and task that completing a project demands.I have been at the top of my class each semester at Chico State, showing a natural ability to analyze data, conduct complex risks analysis, measure important metrics, and have a deep understanding of project requirements while also helping my wife plan our wedding in 2018, welcome our first child in 2019, remain employed, and stand as a first generation full-time student. I was also chosen to be a member of Sigma Lambda Chi, my senior year, due to my academic accomplishments as a construction major. During the summer of 2019, I obtained an internship with Modern Building in Chico and have been able to continue to show exemplary work in all that I do and grow as a construction manager. I have experience in the following construction software programs: Bluebeam, Onscreen takeoff, Navis, Sketchup, and Excel.When I am not working as an intern at Modern Building, I am coaching for the Junior Varsity Girl's basketball team at Colusa High School, spending time with my wife, daughter, and four golden doodles, or watching sports.
