In 2017 - 2021 I undertook a B.Sc. with honours in Pharmacology at the University of Glasgow and graduated with a first class degree. The four year programme taught me the essential skills required to function as a clinical pharmacologist. My dedication to my studies earned me cash prizes for the highest overall GPA, highest exam results, and highest dissertation project score within my year group. My dissertation, which explored ‘the association between hypertension and dementia’, has since been made into a review article, and is published in the esteemed “Pharmacology and Therapeutics” Journal. I was delighted to also be a nominee for the outstanding performance in life science award at the Univeristy. In 2022 I graduated from my M.Sc. with distinction in Precision Medicine and Pharmacological Innovation. I was granted full funding by the Scottish Funding Council to complete this degree, and again, was awarded cash prize for highest GPA within my year group. The Masters programme taught me a wealth of knowledge and skills in the field of modern medicine from the planning and regulation of clinical trials to the buisiness side of the pharmaceutical industry. As part of my Masters project I collaborated with BioClavis- a Scottish diagnostic BioTech company- to create potential diagnostic product ideas for mesothelioma, leveraging their unique TempO-Sequencing genetic technology.I currently work in Sydney, Australia at the Macquarie University Clinical Trials Unit as a clinical trials associate. I support coworkers with administration tasks involved in running clinical trials at the hospital. I also play an essential role in preparing and processing biological samples taken from patients.
