Marc Bernstein - Hussmann is founding director of Melbourne Design Studios (MDS), a multi-award-winning practice creating commercial, residential and cultural architecture & interiors. MDS has a strong focus on sustainable and contemporary design, and Marc is also a Certified Passivhaus Designer.Marc and his team are winners of an Architect's Institute Award for "Sustainable Architecture", the ArchiTeam Sustainability Medal, the bdav's 'Building Design of the Year' twice, an Interior Design Excellence Award (IDEA), the Australian bpn Sustainability Award (Small Commercial Architecture), the BDAVʼs 10 Star Challenge, a couple of national design awards from the NABD and many many more. As an architect, a certified Passive House designer and an accredited Thermal Performance Assessor, Marc Bernstein is known internationally for his expertise and his holistic approach to sustainable architecture and contemporary design. He used to be a Teaching Associate in Sustainable Architecture at Monash University and sat on the Design Matters National / BDAV Committee of Management from 2014.
