Marc is a botanist/ecologist with 15 years experience as a consultant, researcher and conservation practitioner. He is an expert in orchid conservation, plant translocation, and mycorrhizal fungi. He holds a PhD with the Australian National University studying the conservation of Leek Orchids (Prasophyllum), and a long-standing association with the Orchid Conservation Program at the Royal Botanic Gardens Victoria. He has previously worked with the Australian Government, and as an impact assessment consultant for seven years in Australia, where he worked on a wide range of projects, including in renewable energy, mining, urban development, infrastructure and forestry. He has extensive experience in science communication, presenting radio programs, lectures, scientific conferences and community groups.
