I was a member of the successful Health & Safety and EmergencyManagement team at the Ministry of Justice. I was involved in a range of activities as part ofthis role, most notable of which include heading the continuous improvement of Haumaru (the Health& Safety, Security, and Privacy management tool), and facilitating workshops for our staff to increase H&S capability across the business – both in person and via online channels such as zoom.

I was supported by incredible leaders who lead by example and gave me the opportunity to develop my own style of service to obtain the results that BNZ desired from its employees.My role was a customer facing one in the retail sector, so personable interaction was a must as each new customer brought their own set of needs, challenges, and desires. This was well suited for my innate desire to help people and to own a job through to completion. It was thanks to this that I saw great success in building valuable rapport with my customers, and receiving high praise from not only them, but my colleagues, managers, and even the BNZ’s Head of Retail for Wellington and the South Island. My ability to relate to, empathise with, and genuinely care about customers on a personal level is what, I believe, lead to my success of consistently achieving the targets laid out to me by my managers.

The service is legendary, with a regular customer base the recognises the company’s goal of being the best restaurant operation in New Zealand. While only being there for a short time, I quickly picked up the basics and received tips and compliments from satisfied customers for my attitude and the quality of service that I delivered.

Paper Plus is renowned as a first-rate book and stationary store. This store, however, also provided a Lotto outlet, New Zealand Post shop, and a Kiwibank branch. Due to this, I was employed as a Sales Assistant, Lotto Terminal Operator, and New Zealand Post and Kiwibank Teller.
