We believe that access to legal representation typically reserved for wealthy corporate interests is the first step to eradicating systemic barriers such as the school-to-prison pipeline.My responsibilities for this growing and currently undefeated practice are all-embracing.

• Expanded case load to 145 clients per annum while maintaining highest win-loss ratio in firm history;• Advised clients on legal and educational matters, including academic evaluations, school placement decisions, and communications with the New York City Department of Education;• Represented clients at individualized educational program meetings, impartial hearings for reimbursement of private school tuition, suspension hearings for school disciplinary matters, and various associated proceedings in criminal and family court; • Hosted informational seminars for parents and educational professionals regarding the rights of children with special needs under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act.• Negotiated settlements for tuition reimbursement and prospective funding claims.• Supervised paralegal staff and administrative assistants.• Independently drafted, edited, and filed closing briefs, appeals to the New York State Education Department's Office of State Review, and complaints and motions for the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York.• Solely responsible for motion practice in federal case resulting in significant shift of emerging case law regarding proposed public placements.
