I starting my flying career at the age of 17 while working at Duncan Aviation on the Line Department doing many task. Within 6 years I added additional ratings and certificates allowing me to fly a wide variety of aircraft. By the age of 25 I took my first Learjet trip and three years later I earned my Learjet type rating. The following year I completed enough flying to obtain my Airline Transport Pilot certificate, aviation's highest certificate and added Certified Flight Instructor to my credentials. In 1994 the opportunity presented itself for me to add a second type rating in the Citation 500 series aircraft doing pilot service for several local companies. When our company purchased a Citation 650 in 1995 I gained my third type rating in that aircraft as well. In 2000 I added my fouth type in a Citation Excel. A new opportunity arose in 2018 for me to add a Falcon 50 type rating which has proved to be a joy to fly. My corporate flying over the last 44 years has taken me to every including Canada, Mexico, many Caribbean islands. Scuba diving is another passion I have enjoyed since 2007 when my daughter needed to obtain her Open Water Diver certification for a college course. Since then I have become an Open Water Instructor and teach additional specialties for divers. We have been fortunate to have traveled to many destination around the would such as Fiji, Indonesia, Bonaire, Dominica, Bahamas, Honduras, Cayman Islands, Mexico and more. In 2012, our friends the Miller's, my wife and I purchased Husker divers. In October of 2016 we acquired Heartland Scuba and began a total renovation with many upgrades opening in May of 2017 at the new location. We have a larger retail floor, more storage, upgraded tech room and pool. At the end of 2021 we sold AquaTrec to a growing and very successful company in Omaha, Diventures. They share our vision and passion for diving and the scuba industry. Our store was 10th facility to join them in their quest to change the dive industry.
